Christmas in June...A Huge Success.

Nobody does Christmas better than Celebrations! Their 2008 holiday showcase, held last Thursday night at the Treehouse on Seven Mile Beach, confirmed this once again for everyone to see. Over 200 guests attended the exclusive event and soaked up the beautiful surroundings and the innovative designs of Celebrations’ talented Event Planners. All of this, whilst being entertained by Cayman’s finest musicians and enjoying Celebrations signature cocktails, and of course delicious appetizers by Full of Beans!
The showcase included highligting a small fraction of the many Holiday décor themes that we can provide for the smallest companies on island to the largest. Traditional, Black & White, Moroccan, Disco and Winter Wonderland were the five themes our planners chose to showcase.
As I pointed out in my brief speech at the showcase, Celebrations works with all venues through out the Cayman Islands and indeed we were very happy to be able to announce that the Tree House venue was a location where we the ability to host private events for our clients.

Peggy from Cayman Lenscrafter said, ‘We would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful Christmas in June presentation and party. It was absolutely wonderful! We had a great time viewing all the fabulous set-ups. We especially enjoyed the blue snow scene in your tent... loved it best! The work that must have gone into the organization & set-up boggles the mind... You people are magicians! The food was very very tasty. And the musicians were first-class. Thank you so very much for including us on your guest list . We thank you for an extremely enjoyable and fun evening! The party was a feast for the senses!”

The Tree House is a fabulous loction that is somewhat a blank canvas where we can truly create any event of any size at any time of the year not only for the holidays!

Many thanks to everyone who attended. We are excited about the exclusive rights to host parties at the Tree House location and we look forward to seeing you at our 2009 showcase!

PS. I will be posting more detailed shots of the decor and of the guests in a few days. Please watch out for that.

Dan & Melissa's Wedding : Pink Paradise

I feel this wedding was really outstanding, in it's simplicity and elegance! This happy couple, Melissa and Daniel , from Michigan, had a fabulous wedding weekend in Cayman with their 40 guests, which of course included close family and friends.

I particularly love the style and color of the bridesmaids dresses in a soft pink and matching pink parasols, and of course the finishing detail of the Bride's pink shoes was just the best! Using this very simply elegant tone of pink, and repeating it the decor elements, the dresses, the parasols, the flowers, the centrepieces, made this wedding look so terrific against the aquamarine waters of Cayman's Seven Mile Beach!

The ceremony held on the roof top of the Hyatt Hotel, was particularly spectacular. One of Celebrations most senior Wedding Planners, Ahmed had a great time, working with the bride and groom to put together their dream destination wedding; and Ahmed, said the guests had such fun and were dancing up a storm from the beginning, dancing to all the favorite soca, reggae and calypso! The chuppah was designed with cascading leis of dendrobium and cymbidium orchids, which gave such an exotic yet soft and elegant finish to the setting.

The exquisite cake completed this simple elegant wedding. The sunset that evening - was the true "icing on the cake" ! Sincere congratulations to Melissa and Daniel we wish you every happiness. All of us at Celebrations hope you enjoyed your weekend destination here in our paradise, The Cayman Islands, and that you will come back and visit really soon!

It's Dad's World at Celebrations

For most of us, shopping for the perfect Father’s Day Gift can be a difficult, if not impossible task. Father’s Day initiates the annual conundrum of what to buy the man who already has everything he needs. Finding the perfect Father’s Day gift usually requires a great deal of effort and a lot of homework, but this year Celebrations have made choosing the right gift a very simple process! They’ve created Dad’s World at their huge gift store in the Mirco Centre so that everyone can find the perfect gift for Dad! It is a world that welcomes you in, creates an exhilaration by providing the elements that are geared to pampering, making Dad smile and be as confident, active and fun loving as he should be. It is an unforgettable setting with a Frank Sinatra theme.

Looking for the Perfect Gift for Dad? Think Backwards. The perfect gift requires “reverse engineering.” In the gift business this means starting with the recipients’ tastes, preferences and hobbies and working backwards towards the perfect gift. Instead of finding the perfect gift and then trying to match it to the recipient, we start with the recipient and work in reverse. Understanding this simple principal will instantaneously make you a better gift buyer for any occasion. When clients call in saying, “I need a gift for my Dad,” our sales assistant’s first question is always, “What can you tell me about him?” What kind of food does your father like? Is he big on Barbequing? Does he like the finer things in life? Does he like to relax by the pool? Does he love gourmet food? Does he play golf or fish? Is he a ‘Snack-a-holic?’ All these defining characteristics of Dad are paramount when selecting the perfect gift. The more questions you can answer the better off you’ll be in making your selection. At Celebrations we’ve got the perfect gift basket for every dad. One that will perfectly match his preferences and bring a huge smile to his face.
The difference between a “good gift” and the “perfect gift” is determined by how accurately you can pinpoint Dad’s tastes, preferences and hobbies and then work backwards towards a gift that best fits him. A good gift is something that Dad sincerely appreciates. The perfect gift will stand out in his mind for years!
The Best Father’s Day Gifts are Properly Wrapped. Whether it is a power tool or a piece of fine jewelry, the perfect gift must be properly gift-wrapped. At Celebrations we specialize in the fine art of gift wrapping and ensure that gifts are always impeccably packaged. Celebrations also has a huge selection of unique and personalized Father’s Day gift cards and themed activity pop up cards. The card is another important element of the gift that cannot be overlooked. It’s The Thought That Counts, by choosing one of our personalized gift baskets at Celebrations, it shows Dad that you really thought about him, which is ultimately the true essence of gift giving. The smile on Dad’s face when he opens the perfect gift is truly priceless.

Wedding Symposium in Orlando

What an extraordinary experience! I have just arrived back home from a one day wedding symposium put on by Engaging Concepts – we attended Engage!08 in Orlando.
Lisa McGinty, our Marketing and PR Executive, and I, had the incredible fortune to be part of this very initimate group of 75 persons that attended this very high powered and high profile wedding symposium. We have learned great insights and are literally buzzing with all the new ideas and possibilities that we have seen and been introduced to.

Thanks to my incredible friend, mentor, and total inspiration, Rebbecca Grinnals we were invited to be part of this first symposium of it's kind. Well, Rebecca Grinnals, you have done it again, it was far beyond my high expectations and I am sure all of the attendees will agree with me. Never have I attended a conference, symposium, trade show, whatever you want to call it, (and I have been attending them for over 15 years) and come away feeling like I did. In one day, I know so much more about the world of weddings as they currently stand in the market place. So much information was imparted, the trends, insight personal and up close with none other than the incredible Preston Bailey, not to mention Marcy Blum – that session left me breathless. Not to mention the other speakers were all so informative, and in particular Christine Boulton of Think Like a Bride and Harmony Walton of Get Married.com were so interesting and honest with their insight and knowledge on their respective subjects.

Mr. Fabulous, Preston Bailey and I at Engage!08

Lots of talk about Destination Weddings and how the buzz and trend towards weddings in these exotic far away places continues to grow excessively every year. I am so excited and have to say that here in our little paradise, the Cayman Islands, Celebrations are planning, designing and producing more and more couture, bespoke weddings of a distinction for our overseas brides, and that, as you all know, is our passion! Thanks Rebecca Grinnals - you are amazing!
