Wayne & Joni, both of Cayman Islands, tied the knot March 1st 2008. We truly loved this wedding. We could not loose the opportunity to share this awesome event with everyone.... so here at last are our photos and comments on this special wedding!

Joni's bouquet was created with green Cymbidium orchids, mini Callas, ivory Stephanotis and accented by cholocate Mocorra orchids.

Her 8 bridesmaids carried with them smaller versions of Joni's bouquet. The bright colours of the flowers in their bouquets greatly complimented their fabulous dresses.

The First Baptist Church was the church chosen for their wedding reception. The setting is superb and the decor was designed to create a simple elegance with of course the flavor of the Caribbean. Joni's favourite colors of chocolate brown and orange so we took great pleasure in creating the various design accents, to bring this vibrant color combination to life in this gorgeous wedding. For the ceremony in the church, the white carpet leading to the altar was elegantly punctuated by arrangements of roses, orchids, willow, and hanging aramanthus, tulips, and hydrangea, creatively arranged in tall clear glass vases. The mosaic design found in the church's window provided great ambient lighting for the wedding ceremony too!

On the altar itself, there were 4 large customized floral arrangements all in keeping with the general colour scheme of the wedding made using exotic flowers. The flowers that were used were ranunculus, cymbidium orchids, mango callas, ivory & terracotta roses, tulips, hydrangea and so much more.

Here are some close up detail of some of the unique and customized arrangements that were used in Joni & Wayne's wedding, from the ceremony to the cocktail area to the dinner tables.

This wedding was a gorgeous example of being very adventerous in creating your color palette. Joni & Wayne were quite successful in bringing together oranges, lime greens and browns.

The clear top tent, made for a spectacular setting, on the beautiful grounds of Pedro St. James Castle. It was truly breathtaking! So many guests, on the day of the wedding made special comment to me, that this was such a beautiful wedding, and that the colors were amazing in this particular setting. I have to say, it was awesome! The dinner table centrepieces which was a composite one with arrangements in large vases and smaller vases.

The ever popular lounge area was created, close by the large clear top tent, and this was done with all white lounge sets with bright colored pillows. These were placed in locations of the reception area for guests to use while taking a break from dancing and just wanting to lounge and enjoy the evening!

It's all in the details! Some close up shots to show you the extent of customization that were prevalent in this wedding.

Just another sample of what you can do to personalize your wedding is this gobo of the couple's monogram. Lighting is one of the most important ingredient of any event, and here the lighting was magnificent, and helped to emphasis, and finish the entire decor elements.

The wedding cake was a masterpiece in its simplicity and elegance. Miss Anne, Celebrations head designer, created this gorgeous and scrumptious wedding cake. Complete with edible fondant icing flowers, this cake simply was the "icing on the wedding", bringing together the simplicity yet sheer elegance in design.

After dinner, the guests were treated to a spectacular fireworks show against the moonlit Cayman sky. What a finish to this incredible wedding!

The Art of Stylish Dinner Parties in Retrospect

Jo Anne Brown, destination cayman, wedding, destination wedding, cayman weddings, celebrations,Celebrations Cayman, celebrations, weddings, cayman, grand cayman

Gardenia Court, Camana Bay was transformed into an elegant outdoor class room setting on the evening of Tuesday 22nd of July. The Art of Stylish Dinner Parties, a workshop held by Celebrations, was attended by over sixty guests all of whom were eager to learn the secrets of throwing an unforgettable dinner party. They were not disappointed!

Ms. Jo-Anne Brown, Managing Director of Celebrations, and Ms. Anne Ogden, Event Designer wowed the audience as they transformed two bare tables into masterpieces. On going commentary of what was being done, and all the information relative to the setting, and ambiance of creating a stylish dinner setting, was discussed as the tables were being transformed. The first table was transformed into an exquisite, classic setting adorned with beautiful dinnerware fit for a palace. A magnificent yellow and blue floral centerpiece was the final embellishment. The second table was given a less formal makeover. Chic black table cloth with alternating black and white chairs gave it a rustic, casual look. Lush red roses in square vases added a splash of color.

Ms Nadia Fagan, Retail & Executive Services Manager at Celebrations, entertained the crowd with her ‘Do’s & Don’ts’ speech on etiquette at dinner parties. She also spoke about ‘The Art of Conversation’ during her interesting and informative discourse. The interactive part of the workshop began as Ms Anne taught the attendees how to fold a napkin into a decorative ‘Bird of Paradise’. Each attendee was given their own napkin so that they could follow Ms Anne’s instructions and create their own.

At the end of the evening a beautiful centerpiece was raffled and guest enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and wine.

‘It was a truly inspiring lesson, it really is an art form’, enthused one guest. ‘I can’t wait for the next workshop!’

Amanda and Jody : Rustic Elegance

The wedding ceremony of Amanda and Jody, both of Grand Cayman, took place in Elmslie Memorial Church, one of the islands' oldest churches. The church is also quite famous for its ceiling made of timber mostly salvaged from a shipwreck and that looks like a hull of an upturned ship.
An immaculate white carpet flanked by simple arrangements in tall glass vases filled with willow & blooms in the shades of burnt orange, rust colors, greens, hot pink with touches of yellow. Fuchsia, orange and yellow rose petals were also strewn on the edges of the carpet.

Upon climbing the steps to the altar, large rustic tree trunks on top of which equisite floral designs had been placed that also inter-twined with the trunks was a most rustic, romantic and elegant touch to the setting where the ceremony was held. The floral designs Amanda chose were created by Celebrations talented floral designers.

Amanda's bouquet was a work of art...a unique blend of Mango Calla lilies, green and purple Cymbidium orchids, hot pink Tulips, Ranunculus and hanging deep red Amaranthus. Designed by Joan Morrison one of Celebrations most talented Floral Designers.

The reception was held at Marriott Grand Ballroom.
An arch of white, sheer fabric welcomed the guests at the beginning of the staircase that leads to the main ballroom at the Marriott.

Upon entering the ballroom, a white carpet, rose petals, cylinder vases with candles and beads created a dramatic path that led to the dance floor and further on to the sweetheart table just for the Bride and Groom.

Tablecloths to the floor made of brushed gold pintuck silk fabric with gold chivari chairs, made the setting serene. For the centrepieces, we designed for the bride and groom, two different styles.
One of the styles of the centrepieces was a delicate mix of flowers that were exquisitely designed from this large round glass bowl making it appear to grow from the inside out over the top of the vase.

The alternate design for the centrepiece, was designed using a willow twisted tree which was uniquely decorated. At the base of the tree full posey style arrangement of flowers completed this design. Hanging Amaranthus, Roses and Cymbidium Orchids were place on the tree limbs.

One of the many special touches of this wedding was the Candy Station filled with a fabulous mix of fun colourful candies placed in various sizes and shapes of glass containers. This was a popular and eye-catching feature for all who attended this wonderful wedding. I just love Candy Stations!!!

At the cocktail area, Amanda & Jervis had a really wonderful touch to their wedding. This was the Wedding Wish table, where the bride and groom had written and placed in sealed envelopes wishes for their guests, these were all put in a bowl, and guests were then asked to write a wish to the bride an groom and leave it for them in the glass bowl provided and then take a wish from the bride and groom. Another great way to personalize your wedding.

These very simple arrangements were also used as centerpieces for the cocktail tables.

For the wedding cake, our own Creative Designer/Artist Extra-ordinaire, Anne Ogden, created this impeccable feast for all the guests to enjoy. The flowers are totally made of fondant icing and the cake was truly delicous.

This wonderful couple, Amanda and Jody, I have known personnally for years, and I am so happy to see their lives begin together, and I wish them every happiness. Their wedding planner from the Celebrations team, was Jaime Alexanderson, and Jaime had great fun planning this wedding with the couple and their families, and very much enjoyed being their to handle everything on the wedding day, and all the other items that planners take care of, for a wedding.... it's what we at Celebrations do! Jaime wishes her special couple every good wish.

Best Wishes to Amanda & Jody

Rick & Giordan - Tropical Cool Wedding

This very simple and casual destination beach wedding was held at a beautiful private beach at Rum Point, Grand Cayman. The bride and groom Giordan and Rick Texas brought with them a total of 17 guests to witness and be part of this sunset wedding.
The bride walked down the aisle outlined with natural conch shells and bamboo tiki torches. At the end of the aisle a bamboo framed canopy draped in sheer white fabric was the chosen design. The chair ties were a shade of turquoise, a shade similar to the colours of the Cayman's sea.

The beautiful ocean view provided a picturesque background for this wedding. During the reception, a steel pan player provided music creating an authentic Caribbean atmosphere to the entire wedding.

Rebecca Bateman, one of Celebrations Wedding Planners, did an outstanding job with Rick & Giordan's wedding. The couple was really grateful to Rebecca and the Celebrations Team: "Everything was perfect!!!! A fairy tale wedding. Thank you so much for everything."

Our congratulations again to Giordan & Rick ! Thank you for choosing Celebrations and the Cayman Islands to make your dream wedding come true.
